This article really pissed me off today. I can respect Julian Assange for wanting to get the truth out about the US military's actions around the globe. But he now stands accused of sexually assaulting two women in Sweden. His response to being accused of rape is to accuse the governments involved of "a secret grand jury investigation against [him] or [his] organization." He acknowledges having contact with the women, but calls one of them a "groupie" who is out to assassinate his character.
The thing I hate about this guy is what I hate about a lot of conspiracy-thinking people... basically that the conspiracies never end, or that if even a few conspiracy theories are true, then ALL conspiracy theories must be true. Like these rape accusations can be dismissed as just another government lie, so no one should listen to these women and what they have to say. Maybe he did it or maybe he didn't, but his arrogant and dismissive attitude towards rape speak volumes about his character.
